The Hospital Auxiliary to the Whitehorse General Hospital is a group of dedicated community volunteers who provide various services the hospital. Men are also welcome to join this group. All new members will need to have a criminal records check from the RCMP prior to joining.
The Auxiliary meets once a month at the hospital.
Monday, Wednesday and Friday, two volunteers from the Hospital Auxiliary push the “tuck cart” around the hospital, selling a variety of sundry items such as snacks, bars, candies, pop, birth announcements, knitted items, newborn t-shirts etc. All proceeds for the tuck cart are donated to the hospital for the purchase of equipment, comfort items and educational materials for patients.
The Hospital Auxiliary participate in a variety of other fundraising projects for the benefit of the hospital.
