Nephrologists are internal medicine specialists who have extra education and expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the kidney and urinary system. Patients are referred to this specialist for conditions like: inflammation of the kidneys, cancer of the kidney or chronic kidney disease.
A specialized Registered Nurse accompanies the Nephrologist twice a year to assist in the care of Yukon patients undergoing Peritoneal Dialysis.
